An Ghaeilge sa scoil Irish in the school
‘Sí an Ghaeilge gnáth-theanga laethúil na scoile agus múintear gach ábhar, seachas an Béarla trí mheán na Gaeilge. Foghlaimíonn na páistí an teanga go nádúrtha sna blianta tosaigh ar scoil. Clúdaíonn an scoil an curaclam céanna is atá ag gach scoil. Iarrtar ar thuismitheoirí agus gach éinne a thagann ag an scoil tacú leis an nGaeilge.
The daily language of the school is the Irish language and all subjects, except English, are taught through the medium of Irish. Children learn the language naturally as they progress through their early years in school. The school covers the same curriculum as all primary schools. Parents and all visitors to the school are asked to support their children in speaking Irish and to use whatever Irish they have when they come to the school.

An luath thumoideachas Early immersion education
Tá an luath-thumoideachas iomlán i bhfeidhm againn sa scoil. Ciallaíonn seo, nach múintear Béarla go dtí Rang a hAon. Ón gcéad lá ar scoil, labhraítear i nGaeilge amháin leis na páistí. Déantar seo le cinntiú gurb í an Ghaeilge teanga chumarsáide na bpáistí agus go bhfuil siad in ann tabhairt faoin gcuraclam iomlán trí mheán na Gaeilge. Foghlaimíonn na páistí conas léamh trí Ghaeilge i dtosach agus ansin i mBéarla. Trasnaíonn na scileanna léitheoireachta atá foghlamtha acu sa Ghaeilge go héasca. Tá an luath-thumoideachas iomlán aitheanta go forleathan timpeall an domhain mar an tslí is éifeachtaí chun teanga a mhúineadh do pháistí.
We adopt a full early immersion education policy in school. This means that English is not taught until the children are in 1st class. The children are spoken to in Irish only, from the first day of school. This is done to ensure that Irish is the communicative language of the school and to enable them to contend with the entire school curriculum through Irish. Children learn to read in Irish first and then in English. When they go to read in English the reading skills they have learnt through Irish easily transfer to English. Early full immersion is recognised worldwide as the most effective way to teach a language to children

Éiteas Ethos
Is scoil ilchreidmheach atá ann. Foghlaimíonn na páistí faoi choincheap na reiligiún, ní chuirtear béim ar aon reiligiún faoi leith. Úsáiseann muid an clár Croí na Scoile. Is clár eitice agus staidéar ar shainchreidimh éagsúla é Croí na Scoile do scoileanna faoi phátrúnachta An Foras Pátrúnachta ina gcuirtear oideachas ilchreidmheach ar fáil. Tá dlúthbhaint ag an gclár le féinfheasacht, machnamh, luachanna, saorántacht, freagrachtaí agus cearta agus le hiniúchadh ar chórais chreidimh éagsúla. Bíonn tionchar ag an sainspiorad scoile ar an uile ghné de shaol na scoile agus tacaíonn Croí na Scoile le meas, comhthuiscint agus ceiliúradh ar éagsúlacht agus ar ilchineálacht a chur chun cinn ar bhealach fáilteach, oscailte agus ionchuimsitheach.
We are a multi-denominational school, which aims to help learners develop critical awareness and an understanding of moral decision making. We use the programme Croí na Scoile. Croí na Scoile is an ethics program and a study of different faiths provided to schools under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta where multi-denominational education is provided. The program is closely related to self-awareness, reflection, values, citizenship, responsibilities and rights and the exploration of different belief systems. The special school ethos affects all aspects of school life and Croí na Scoile supports the promotion of respect, mutual understanding and celebration of diversity in a welcoming, open and inclusive way.

The school participates in the ‘Creative Schools Programme’. Séamus Moran was the coordinator working with us. Children from first to sixth class were on the committee.

Rang a 4-6: Beochan (Animation)
An Tionscnamh mór The Big Project
Tar éis go leor plé, bheartaigh an coiste gur mhaith leo feabhas a chur ar an gclós mór. Shocraigh siad go raibh tuilleadh trealamh de .Shocraigh siad gur mhaith leo an balla mór liath a pheinteáil fosta. Tá muid fíor-bhuíoch gur chuidigh tuismitheoirí linn an trealamh sa chlós a thógáil. Phéínteáil na páistí an trealamh i ndathanna geala. Tharraing gach rang na dearaidh do na ballaí. Chuidigh ealaíontóirí linn na dearaidh a tharraingt ar an mballa agus phéinteáil na páistí iad. Tá muid an-spórt agus spraoi againn! Tá muid an-bhródúil as ár gclós galánta anois!
After a lot of discussion, the committee decided that they would like to improve the big yard. The children wanted more equipment to play with. They also wanted to paint the big grey wall. We are very grateful to the parents that helped us build the equipment. The children painted the equipment bright colours. Each class designed a mural for the wall. Artists helped to outline the design. The children painted them, we had lots of fun! We are so proud of our lovely yard!
